IRS & Road Taxes

IRS department covers an extensive and detailed number of services from an Employer Identification Number (EIN) is also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number and is used to identify a business entity or a sole proprietor.  Form 2290 (Highway Use Tax) is mostly known as Road Taxes.  Road Taxes are required for vehicles with a taxable gross weight of 55,000 pounds or more and that is used on a public highway intrastate or interstate.  The vehicle owner must file form 2290 and pay the appropriate tax between July 1 and August 31 of each year, any taxes file after the deadline will accrue extra fees due to late penalties.  Even if you fall under the category of suspended category, you must report your road taxes to the IRS.
